Single phase pole mounted transformer
Single phase pole mounted transformer

Single phase pole mounted transformers designed and produced are normally used for stepping utility distribution voltages (from 2400V to 34500V) down to lower utilization voltages. Although some are used for stepping down to commercial and industrial voltages such as 277V, 240/480V, 2400V and 4800V, most are used for stepping down to the single phase voltage of 120/240V.

These transformers also used for small substation, miscellaneous applications and can serve to step up voltages.

Designs and productions of single phase are available in two types: single phase pole mounted conventional transformer and completely self protected (CSP) transformer. Power rating up to 167kVA.

The single-phase fully complies with or even exceeds international standards such as ANSI/IEEE, CSA, and DOE. Single-phase has UL/cUL, CSA, IEEE and other certificates. It has been exported to North America, Central and South America and other markets in large quantities.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are the primary applications for single phase pole mounted transformers?

They are primarily used for stepping utility distribution voltages (from 2400V down to 34500V) down to lower utilization voltages. Most are utilized for stepping down to the single phase residential/commercial voltage of 120/240V, as well as for small substations and miscellaneous voltage adjustment applications.

What types and maximum power ratings are available for these single phase transformers?

They are supplied in two primary configurations: the conventional single phase pole mounted type and the completely self protected (CSP) type. The standard power ratings for these units go up to 167kVA.

Which international quality and compliance standards do these transformers meet?

The single phase transformers fully comply with or exceed major international standards including ANSI/IEEE, CSA, and DOE energy efficiency requirements. They carry official certificates such as UL/cUL, CSA, and CESI.

What is the difference in standard features between conventional and CSP type transformers?

While conventional types include lifting lugs, arrester mounting pads, and standard bushings, the CSP (Completely Self Protected) configuration builds on this by adding integrated protective components: a primary protective link inside the high voltage bushing, an attached surge arrester, a secondary circuit breaker, and an external operating handle with emergency overload reset capabilities.

What routine testing processes are carried out to ensure product reliability?

Every individual unit undergoes strict routine testing in accordance with ANSI, IEEE, CSA, DOE, and NEMA specifications. These include a leak test, polarity and phase relation tests, resistance validation, load and no-load loss measurements, excitation current calculation, applied/induced voltage tests, a ratio test, and full-wave impulse validation.

What is the typical manufacturing turnaround time for these distribution units?

Under strict standardized quality management systems, the typical production lead time for conventional power distribution transformers spans between 6 to 8 weeks.
